Left side Thermactor smog tube with the jog and bracket around the coil. Bare tube, installation hardware is not included. Not always available, hard to keep on the shelf, look for our reproduction tube set (right and left) available soon. Must have the correct cylinder heads with the drilled and tapped holes for these tubes. Also called air manifold, this unit is part of the air manifold assembly.

This tube is embedded into the cylinder head making it rather difficult to remove intact. Note that the nut and ferrule assembly is made of two pieces, with the ferrule being a compression fitting used to secure the smog tubes to a series of ports on the cylinder head. Sold individually, 8 total needed for smog installation. Application is 1967 - 1970 390, 427. 428CJ engines. In 1975 Ford started making these out of stainless steel. Tube dimensions 5/16" O.D. x 1.960" long. C6AZ-9A484-C

This one year only, 1969 S code 390-4V or 390IP (Improved performance). Same jog as the 428CJ snorkel. It is technically a 428CJ snorkel with the addition of an adapter on the heat riser opening reducing it down for use with a 2 inch I.D. paper "S" tube. Ford part number C9OZ-9A626-C.

This vacuum actuated door assembly was used on several performance motors without Ram Air. When extra air was needed under heavy acceleration the vacuum actuator opened the door on the side of the air cleaner base. The actuator on this unit needs to be rebuilt so this is considered a good core only.

This little device may not appear to be all that important, but it has a big job to do when your engine gets too hot. Vacuum tested working hot water valve for any 1969-73 Mercury Cougars or Ford Mustang equipped with factory A/C. This valve stops the flow of warm coolant in the heater hose, when the A/C is on. Has the original cast brass valve and vacuum pod.
