These barrel nuts or clips are exactly like the original ones inserted into the trunk for attaching 1967-68 "Mercury" script, and 1971-72 Mercury Cougar "Mercury" Hood scripts. The manufacturer indicates that these tubular nuts fit 1/8" holes. Pin size on those emblems are 3/32". These clips are also used to attach the 1967 quarter panel emblems. Front retractor bolt, used in conjunction with two rubber spacer / washers and one washer. The two rubber washers go on either side of the re-tractor mounting hole and the metal washer is against the inner rocker.

Rear seat belt bolt, four per car used in conjunction with two red washer / spacers. 13/16" hex head, 1-1/4 inch bolt with a 3/16 inch shoulder. Can be either smooth headed or have a Heavy or Light "A". There is another version of this same bolt with a smooth head and no markings.

These little clips are what were used to fasten the dash face pad to the dash bezels on a 1968 standard or decor level Cougar. They are very difficult to come by and we have yet to find a suitable substitute. We suggest that if you need more than a few of these clips that you consider using strips of adhesive Velcro in lieu of these clips as Velcro holds the fragile aluminum trim more evenly against your bezels and is easier to install and remove for future maintenance. *NOTE* There are 13 of...

New replacement J-nut or they are sometimes called U-nuts. These clip into those square holes in the fender aprons for fastening the fenders on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. These clips are 5/8 inches from the hole center to folded edge. We also see the same clips with 27/32 inch spacing for fender mounting. Replaces Ford Part #: C0AB-6423240-B. Four required per car, two per side. If your quarter glass is loose in the track and will not roll up and down these rollers are most likely the culprit. When the tracks get gummed up and the window takes too much effort to roll up and down, these brittle old rollers will break. This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. In 1967 - 1968 there were eight per wheel lip moulding, two per fender extension moulding, two per center grille moulding and five per hood lip moulding for a total of 50 screws. In 1969-1973 they were used on the wheel lips mouldings. The 1971 - 1973 hood lip mouldings used the same screw but it was 5/8" tall.
