The Master Parts Catalog (or MPC) is the 3 foot thick book found at any Mercury dealer back in the day. Many of the parts have superseded numbers or are service replacement parts. Many service replacement parts differ from the OEM factory installed parts. We do our best to know and understand these differences as they come up and point them out. Catalog part numbers and physical part casting numbers also often differ and make part searches difficult. We think that this jumper or adapter wiring lead, was used in 1967 when the Neutral safety switch changed from two separate plugs to a single square 4 combination plug. There could have been an overlap where the plug from the firewall to the 14401 main under dash harness changed to the single square 4 combination plug.
