Used emergency flasher knob for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang equipped with the tilt / tilt away steering column. These knobs are very fragile and the chrome plating will show some minor scratches and pitting. This knob is more attractive than the slender black knob used in 68-69, more durable and costs less. This unit works in conjunction with a pin and is responsible for locking the tilt column in place. In many cases, the pin tends to move out of place and break or chip the teeth of the locking pawl.
