The 289 used a transverse muffler with hangers on either end and dual exhaust was not an option. The 289 Cougars for 1967 also did not use a tail pipe hanger like their 390 brethren did, the tail pipes were free hanging. We have observed in the many 1967 parts cars in our yard that many Cougars have had an after market tail pipe hanger installed at some point. Many Cougars have a hanger welded or bolted to the passenger side tie down bracket.

Very nice reproduction of the D0ZZ-15525-A 1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang 4 speed backup light wiring harness, with the factory installed Hurst shifters. Plugs into the backup lamp switch and connects to the harness plug on the firewall behind the engine.

Sold as a pair, these were a one year only feature that allows you to quickly disconnect the hideaway headlight vacuum hose kit a few inches from the firewall. The fittings are slightly different so as not to mix up the connection by crossing the lines.

These are the correct ring for all years 1967 - 1973 high beam or low beam. No dings, gouges or broken spot welds. They are held in place by a spring and two screws. Contrary to what you might think at first glance, the support rods used in 1969 - 1970 Cougar headliners are not the same front to back. Each of the rods is bowed to a different curve. To replace a headliner and make it look right, you must keep the rods in the same order as they came out of the original headliner. 5 Rods total. Once installed in the car, each rod should be about the same distance from the roof as the other rods. WCCC marks the bows with a sharpie pen, 1 hash mark, 2 hash...

Contrary to what you might think at first glance, the support rods used in 1971-73 Mercury Cougar headliners are not the same from front to back. Each of the rods is bowed to a different curve. To replace a headliner and make it look right, you must install the rods in the same order as they came out from the original locations.
