This D3ZZ-17830 rubber strip is actually intended for a 1973 Ford Mustang rear bumper but properly modified they do work nicely on a 1973 Cougar front bumper that requires impact strips. These are "substitute" parts and will involve bending them to the contour of your bumper, trimming them on one end and drilling three holes in your bumper. This trim part fits on the driver side (left hand) of the package tray between the backseat and the rear window. These are often sun baked, but we will try and pick out a nice clean one for you. This two piece painted trim set helps to secure the dash pad in place at the bottom of the windshield. 1968 Mercury Cougar used a slightly shorter trim set due to the padded windshield pillar pads.
