Headlamp adjusting screw. Typically found on 1969 and 1970 Mercury Cougars. This part is identified by the clipped corner,s but works fine and was used during 1967 and 1968.

This one in, one out design was unique to the early 1967 Cougar for the headlights. Also found on vacuum controlled options like the 1967 Mustang Cougar tilt / tilt-away steering column. This is a good used unit that has been tested and found to hold vacuum well. This valve is located a few inches behind the carburetor.

This check valve is located in-line just behind your carburetor. To test it simply place it in your lips and try blowing through the side with the single port. You should be able to breath in and not breath out. If this valve is bad you will find the headlights opening up after the engine has been shut off on your 1969 - 1970 Cougars and your tilt away function not working correctly on your 1967 - 1970 Cougars equipped with a tilt column.
