This product is an NOS Part.
NOS items are OEM parts from Ford that have been sitting on shelves or in warehouses for years. These are often great examples of the orignal parts, but they may have scratches or other shelf wear.
However be aware that some NOS parts are "service replacement" parts. "Service replacement" parts are not exact replacements of the parts that were installed at the factory, but are what Ford considered as "good enough" and were used at Ford dealerships after the original supply of parts was exhausted.

1969 - 1970 Cougars came factory equipped with stainless trunk mouldings and 1967 - 1968 Cougars came equipped with anodized aluminum trunk lid mouldings. However if you ordered a 67-68 service replacement deck moulding from Ford anytime after 1968 you would have received a stainless steel replacement. We recently obtained 15 of these that were stored improperly where the packaging had deteriorated and the mouldings showed shelf wear. We sent them out to be polished and the results are stunning. Much brighter than a typical NOS trim part and since they were not damaged, the sheen is much smoother than one that has had dents removed. These have a mirror-like finish! No core charge but we will give up to $80 in exchange for your 67-70 aluminum or stainless moulding as store credit.
