The D1WY-15A434-LSM LED Side Marker Light Adapter kit is required when the C9WY-13A366-AL or the TS-400 Sequential controller is installed with LED front turn signal and rear LED side marker bulbs on 1971 Cougars and other Ford vehicles with two rear side marker lights. An adapter is required for each rear side marker light (2 total). This adapter solves the problem where the side marker voltage feeds back through the front turn signal bulb when the running lights or headlights are turned on....

NOTE!!!! This offshore switch is assembled with plated steel rivet contacts as opposed to brass rivet contacts like original. Whereas the Torino or Mustang do fine with 2 incandescent rear bulbs the Cougars with 6 bulbs put too much load on the switch and they fail. The only way these switches will hold up in a Cougar is if you convert to LED. Our turn signal switches are made on the FoMoCo original tooling. If you have replaced your sequential unit in the trunk with one of our new solid state sequential units and are still having problems then the turn signal switch is most likely the culprit as the only other part to the system is the wiring harness itself.
