This handle is a good replacement for the window cranks found on the 1971 - 1972 Cougar both front and back. The originals were 4 1/4" total length and this replacement handle is 4 7/8" long. The important detail on these is the fact that the female portion that attaches to the splined window regulator protrudes from the back 5/16". This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.

Correct for any 1967-73 Ford product with a tilt or fixed column. The repros are fine, but the end knob is distinctly different. Extremely difficult part to find in NOS form and very sought after.
