We often list items like this more for documentation purposes than as an actual sale item. We have no XR7-G pull straps for sale at present, but this photo may be of help to those of you that are looking to restore or recreate a pair.

Used end cap with the burl woodgrain for the deluxe door pull straps found in the Mercury Cougar XR7 or Ford Mustang. These units will show a degree of pitting, fine scratches and fading. Also, these door pull strap caps are unique to 1968 and they are not currently being reproduced. 1967 has no border and the woodgrain has a different color and look to it. Unlike the parts pictured, we only have pitted covers left. At present we have no grade "A" examples. C8MB-5422678-A. This unique gasket is only slightly different from the driver side. Fine scratches but great for the guy who wants original. The Reproduction does not have the II-DMI-6 lettering at the bottom like this original. You will have to carefully peel (roll back) the aluminum backing that is glued in place before gluing it in your mirror. If you use needle nose pliers and take your time it usually works fine.
