No... Mercury never made an emblem "just" like this one but demand dictated we produce it! This emblem has a 3M adhesive backing and looks and measures just like a 1968 quarter panel script or the front fender script found on a 1971 - 1973. Excellent reproduction of the little 1 1/8" wide plastic emblem found on every 1970 - 1974 three spoke steering wheel pad. This emblem can also work on the 1969 - 1973 two spoke steering wheel pad but it is not an exact fit as the two spoke wheel emblem is only 1 1/32" wide. This small sized Cougar emblem (1 3/8" long) was used on 1969 - 1973 Cougars without AC. It was affixed to a block off plate in the very venter of the dash by two peened over die cast studs. It will glue back in place nicely and many Cougar fans have found fun "custom" applications for this attractive piece. This emblem will not be pitted or scratched in any way.

This is the foil insert / decal found on a non XR7 Cougar. It's located just below the center rectangular dash vent / register. It measures 6" X 3/8".

Very nice reproduction of the steering wheel hub decal with the walking cat to fit the new Shelby steering wheels. Chrome outer rim with plastic black and silver horn button in the center.

This is an accurate reproduction of the tie down notice decal that was placed on the rear license plate frame. This was to remind dealers to remove the tie down plates that were used to secure the cars to the transport trains / trucks on their way from the factory to the dealers. Ford wanted to recycle these plates to save money, but dealers often didn't feel it was worth their time to remove the plates. Thus, many cars still have them. Check yours out! ...

Reproduction Tire Pressure Decal for the 1973 Mercury Cougar

New "Cougar" script window decal in black. Measures 6 3/4" wide by 2 1/8" tall.This is a die-cut vinyl decal. To install, you'll have to peel off the backing, apply the decal to the intended clean surface, press in place with a plastic squeegee or credit card, then carefully peel away the top contact paper.

We recently unearthed a few of these unused club decals from the 1980's. "Cougars Northwest" was one of the earliest Cougar Clubs in the country. It folded back in 1988. It was amazing to witness the number of XR7G's, GTE's and Eliminators that would appear at the various club functions such as the annual "Cruise To Cougar Washington". Ford offered the 1973 Mercury Cougar hood emblem in two versions as a service replacement part. It is very rare to find them new in the box with the chrome center hood moulding, usually they are found without the chrome. This was found at the Spring 2007 Ford Carlisle show. Once its gone I doubt we will see another anytime soon. Keep in mind we are always looking for Texaco gas station memorabilia for trades! At this point we are mostly looking for poor condition signs. This was an adhesive emblem and has long since fallen off most cars or was removed when the car was painted. We often times have driver quality emblems available, but be aware, they will have some pitting issues.Our reproduction 67-68 pillar emblem is a good substitute.Original Ford part number D1WY-6542532-A.

This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. The tail will always be broken and probably at least one leg is missing on this grade B part. While not an exact fit our 3 spoke wheel emblem cat will fit on this black background.

This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.
