    Description

This is an exact replacement for a 1970 remote sport mirror. Nearly indistinguishable from a 1968. Obviously a larger ball and longer than found on 1969, 1971-73 remote mirrors. This threaded replacement wand will require you to cut 8/32" fine threads in your original controller. Your OEM mirror controller is made of a very soft metal so one can often install these as "self tapping".

1967 and 1968 are different, see comparison picture. The 1968 version was rounded off due to new safety standards. The mirror nut tool will fit over the 1967 wand, but not the 1968+ version.

Working on a 1970 Boss 302 with broken remote mirror wand. This piece is a great replacement part. I had to remove the entire mirror from the door in order to properly drill and tap the broken remote. It also had to be tapped with 8-32 including a bottoming tap. Be prepared to spend some time to do this properly. It is not simple but it does work well when finished. Good luck, JIM

Good quality. "Just the Wand itself, nothing else" I had to tap the original receiving unit (fairly easy). Works well. worth the $.

    Question
    Roger Fuller Asked:

I have a wand and am trying to figure out how to attach it to the control part 12975 in my existing system. I disassembled the one I recovered the recycled wand. The base of the threaded wand was mushroomed and could not be removed without destroying the 12975 assembly. Do you have a suggestion of how I may attach the recycled wand if I can't get the old one out of the assembly? Do you think a spot of JB weld is the answer? Thanks Roger, Sacramento

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
