Grade A door cup (escutcheon) used on both the Xr7 and Decor / Deluxe interiors with moulded door panels. Casting numbers as seen on the back can read D1WB-6522635-A or D3WB-6522635-A. The last 3 digits will read something like -AWA, AWD or similar which denotes the different colors. These resemble Mustang but are in fact unique to the Cougar. This is the correct, original gasket for your 1971-73 Mercury Cougar antenna. Not only is it much thicker than the Ford Mustang gasket, but it also has a different overall geometry to it. The High tone is indicated in raised letters located on the perimeter of the horn.
