    Description

We have created all of the components needed to economically install the steel nutsert or Riv-nut for the exterior mirrors that mount to the car doors.

Our steel Riv-nut uses a 1/4 inch hole. You will need a 5/32 Allen or hex key, 3/8 inch wrench, and a 7/16 inch wrench.

The Riv-nut needs to be assembled on the kit as shown prior to installation.

The assembly is installed flush, in the pre-drilled hole. The Allen wrench and the 7/16 are held stationary, while the 3/8 wrench is used to tighten the nut clockwise. With the possibly different sheetmetal thicknesses, we are unable to give a definitive torque for tightening. Watch for the upcoming video showing the easy installation.

Kit also includes a spare nut, easily does 4 Riv-nuts.

Incredibly easy to use and simple in design. If you are going to mount O/S read view mirror, you must use RIVNUTS.
Before, it took an expensive tool to install (expensive for only using it to install two mounting points), now you can do them for $3 !

It does the job, but seems kind of iffy functionally. Not bad, but seems a little on the crude side in use. Overall it was good though. It had no issues that caused it to fail, and it did what it was supposed to.

The tool striped out after only one use. Not really impressed with the product. Have used similar tools as an aircraft mechanic. This one didn't cut the mustard.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
