This is a used A/C center vent attaching clip. Two required per center AC vent, the two tiny tabs fit in the holes on the sides of the vent assembly and when you tighten the Phillips screw it will pull the vent tight against the dash pad. Very hard to come by, others have used silicone to bond the chrome vent in place when clips could not be found.Replaces Ford part number C7AZ-14570-A.

These original clips hold better than the reproductions we offer. If you look closely you will see the angle bend is more acute on the originals. For you 71-73 owners with warped panels you will want to use these original clips (at least along the bottom edge) for a tighter hold. These clips are found on the power window swtiches of the 69 - 70 Cougar. Each power window switch has one of these clips and one of the J hook clips. 6 small clips required per master switch panel, one for each window switch and two per lock out switch.
These same clips are also found on the four rocker switches located in the center of the 1969-1970 XR7 dash pad. Do not bend the "J" shaped tab any further than is necessary to release the plug from the back of the switch as these break easily. There are 16 of these used on a Cougar with power windows in 1969, add the 8 in the dash of the XR7 Cougars and some cars have a total of 24.Replaces Ford part number C9AZ-14530.
New chrome finish screws for attaching OEM consoles. Screws fit all stock consoles 1967-73 on Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang, most any Ford consoles actually. Phillips head oval. 1967-68 consoles use 4 attaching screws, 1969-70 consoles need 6 along the outside, 1971-73 consoles have a total of 8 screws along the outside. These are 1-1/2 inches long like the originals.
This plastic socket is very brittle and almost always breaks when installing a new door jamb switches. Does not fit cars with Warning Group with door ajar option. Simply install by carefully breaking the old brittle plastic socket apart with pliers to free up the wire leads and plug wire leads into the new socket.
