    Description

This unit mounts on the main air chamber, it opens and closes the air vent. Made of nylon with a steel and brass plunger just like original. This unit is easy to test and can be seen by removing the glove box. Often it is the internal spring that fails on these and if your Cougar or Mustang will not easily change between blowing through the defrost ducts and the floor duct, this unit may be the culprit. Switch assembly, servo control.

    Replaces Ford part # C6OZ-18C311-A.

*NOTE* You will need to retain your mounting bracket from your old unit.

Nice little "insurance" item to replace while in there to replace a heater core. Except for the unfaded plastic housing, you couldn't tell this from OEM.

Original part removed by a Mustang specialty shop and never replaced. I just received and looking for proper screws to mount to the old heater box. It looks like it will fit. This item was 39% cheaper than at Mustang Parts suppliers.

If your heater will not change between blowing air on the floor and defroster, this is likely the culprit. For more details about how to test for certain, we would recommend visiting the ClassicCougarCommunity.com forum.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
