The Proper ignition advance curve is vital for maximum performance, economy (gas mileage) and drive-ability. Ford / Mercury owners had few acceptable choices with regard to adjusting the vacuum curve with their OEM distributor. You could fumble with the stock washers, fiber stops and springs (a hit-or-miss exercise in frustration!) or you could spend the money on an adjustable after market vacuum advance that looks completely out of place and cost you major judging points. This works on any Ford single advance distributor 1965-1972 big block and small block. But now there is a 100% concours correct Adjustable Vacuum Advance! USA Made. From the outside this unit appears 100% Concours Correct - but it allows FULL EXTERNAL ADJUST-ABILITY from 0-22 crankshaft degrees of vacuum advance. For use with single advance distributors. For the less advanced Ford owner you may not really have any idea why you would need this upgrade or what the benefits may be. Our suggestion is you buy it and hand it to your mechanic. If you and or he does not agree it was a FANTASTIC investment you can return it within 30 days for a full refund even though it was installed.
