Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
New Old Stock driver side (left hand) mirror that has never been installed. Since the wand is recessed into the door panel on the 1969 Cougar, the wand is not prone to breaking off like the 1970 version which protrudes straight out.
Ford part number C9WY-17696-A
NOTE - Cable length should be 18" from the base of the mirror to the inner end of the remote wand assembly. In order to keep the cable from hitting the window, there's usually a clip to hold it away from the glass. This clip is hard to come by, but a zip tie is an easy substitute.
*NOTE* If you have a blank area where your color code is supposed to be stamped on your door data plate then you have a special order paint color. Because sport mirrors came pre-painted from the supplier this chrome mirror would have been put in place of the painted mirror because neither the supplier nor the factory would have been able to determine the number of any one special order paint color to prepare. A small credit (less than $3.00) would be shown on the factory invoice and the window sticker when this was the case.
