    Description

Every now and again, the studs that hold the rear moulding begin to rust and break away from the body of the car. No need to install your rear window trim with missing studs and clips......just screw one of these little guys into place and Viola! Problem solved. Sold Individually.

    • #4-24 X 3/8"
    • 7/32" Head Diameter
    • Phillips Flat Head

If you were missing every stud on your windows, you would need:

    • 67 - 68 = 22 front, 20 rear
    • 69 - 70 = 13 front, 24 rear
    • 71 - 73 = 16 front, 18 rear

Here's a handy diagram we put together to show where these posts go on the front of a 67-68 Cougar or Mustang (click image to enlarge):

These are great to have to repair broken studs. I recommend buying more than you think you need because you could break others while installing new clips.

Usually if you need to replace one of these it is because the metal behind it has rotted. So make your patch panel, drill a hole and screw in the stud. Put a spot weld on the back side before installing the patch on the vehicle. The screw must be mild steel, not stainless because it took the weld perfectly :)

    Question
    desertdave Asked:
Do you have a diagram as to where the studs are located on a 1970 Cougar/Mustang as I have about 6 missing and can not tell exactly where they go.
    January 10, 2021 2:10 PM
    Answer
    Answered:
Not sure about the windshield but the rear window channel has arrows stamped into the flange where the weatherstrip goes indicating the position of the studs.
