Good used center with no crack, missing paint or broken mounting tabs. This was used on all 1969 Cougars with a three spoke wheel except the XR7.

Very rarely do we find one like this example that shows no sign of fading. This is for the person who is trying to achieve a very high level of preservation / restoration.

Regardless of what you have been told these emblems were never chromed. We do not have any of these in stock, probably will not get any more but we post this so as to give you a reference as to what color they should be.

This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.

Found on the C pillars of a 1971 - 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7 Coupe. We rarely get good used examples of these emblems as they are always badly faded. These mount on the lower part of the roof behind the quarter windows. This part of the roof is also known as the 'C' pillar.

Assembly required This high quality corral fits perfectly and the chrome plating is well beyond what Ford originally did. The mounting studs are placed in the exact position as original. This is a used fuel door insert we have cleaned up, painted the background black and installed a 1967-1969 headlight door walking cat emblem on. The original 1970 ELIMINATOR piece that this resembles had a smaller sized cat so this is not exactly correct for your original 1970 Eliminator.

After waiting several months, these reproduction 1967 - 1968 Mercury Cougar Deck Lock (Trunk Lock) covers are now finished! The reproduction chrome cover shown here sports a very rare original Ford, NOS XR7 decal. The NOS decal is different from our reproduction in three subtle areas. First the number "7" is a darker, richer color, second the decal fills the recessed area better and third the detail in the black area is a little different than our reproductions. There are several differences between this NOS decal and the good quality reproduction we offer. First off the red "7" is darker, second the "XR" is more brilliant, third is when you run your finger nail over the tiny raised ridges the reproduction makes a audible zip sound and the NOS does not, fourth is there is no adhesive backing on the NOS decal and there is on the reproduction, fifth is the reproduction is made of a much heavier aluminum stock than the NOS and lastly the NOS fits in the...

The later run XR7-G emblems we offer are really quite nice, but they are all just a tad smaller than originals. This is almost impossible to detect unless you have a reference point. The lock cover does in fact provide a reference point in that if you use a new emblem you will have a noticeable gap around the perimeter of the emblem. Of all of the XR7-G emblems we sell, this one may be the closest to original. This is a nice upgrade for your 1968 Cougar whether it is the standard, decor, XR7 or XR7-G model. The picture above shows the new emblem next to one pulled from a XR7-G parts car.
