These reproductions are fantastic quality! We sent NOS originals to Scott Drake to duplicate and they could not have done a better job. This "Stick On" Cougar rear deck emblem was only used on models without the XR7 package. They are often missing as once the factory double sided tape dries out they are often lost forever. The 1967 XR7 did not have rocker panel mouldings as did the 1968 - 1973 XR7 Cougars. All 1967 XR7 models came equipped with these "Hash" marks fastened to the rear of both rockers, at a rear tilting angle. Both sides received seven ribs, held by two Phillips screws each for a total of fourteen ribs in all. These were originally painted argent silver with the back ground painted semi-gloss black, they were not chromed. This emblem was used on all 1968 Cougar steering wheels with the exception of the XR7-G.

Excellent reproduction of the little 1 1/8" wide plastic emblem found on every 1970 - 1974 three spoke steering wheel pad. This emblem can also work on the 1969 - 1973 two spoke steering wheel pad but it is not an exact fit as the two spoke wheel emblem is only 1 1/32" wide. Keep in mind we made these EXACTLY as original so they are very fragile. This small sized Cougar emblem (1 3/8" long) was used on 1969 - 1973 Cougars without AC. It was affixed to a block off plate in the very venter of the dash by two peened over die cast studs. It will glue back in place nicely and many Cougar fans have found fun "custom" applications for this attractive piece. This emblem will not be pitted or scratched in any way.

These are NOS Mercury Cougar XR7-G dash emblems. The version supplied these days from the OEM supplier do not have as definitive of cross hatch pattern and the edges are not as sharp. Another quick way to discern between NOS and new when original packaging is absent is to look at the back side. Original part removed from an Eliminator parts car many years ago. The frame is the same as the 69-70 common fuel door with 2 extra holes drilled, the cat emblem is the same as what is found on a 1970 Standard / Eliminator Cougar center grille.
