This is the stainless steel trim for the front of the boot that attaches to the back side of the back seat in a 1969 or 1970 Cougar and Stang. This is a very hard part to come by in good shape. This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. In 1967 - 1968 there were eight per wheel lip moulding, two per fender extension moulding, two per center grille moulding and five per hood lip moulding for a total of 50 screws. In 1969-1973 they were used on the wheel lips mouldings. The 1971 - 1973 hood lip mouldings used the same screw but it was 5/8" tall.

This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. You will notice the reproduction has a larger head (The two on the right in the lower picture are repros) than both of the used versions typically found on 67-73 Cougars. Good used pair of taillights that includes two average grade "B" bezels and two used grade "B" lenses with backing plates. No obvious cracks in the lenses but there will be stress cracks that will only be found under close inspection.
