The rubber is prone to cracking and the unit will bind under severe use. Not just speaking of the unit we are offering but all of them including the original Ford units. High Performance Coil Spring Perches offer a very affordable upgrade to stock spring perches with rubber bushings. These are made with synthetic elastomer bushings which are similar to polyurethane in performance and longevity, but will not squeak like polyurethane. Restoration expert and MCA Judge Marcus Anghel, suggests using a slightly larger round punch to open the hole slightly. If the boot isn't seated low enough, the boot will tear and fail in short order.

Most all Cougar and Mustang received 28 splined axles, whether they have an 8 inch or nine inch rear end from the factory. Concours rear axle vent hose for any 1967-73 Mercury Cougar or 1965-73 Ford Mustang. Rubber hose that attaches to the metal nipple on the top of your rear axle housing. Fits 8 and 9 inch rear ends. Includes hardware as shown. Crimp clamp, screw clamp and bolt. Ribbed hose like original, and has yellow paint mark like from the factory. About 20 inches of hose is included, a little more than what was from the factory. Part number 4A001 in the chassis assembly manual.
