These long rods are installed horizontally in your trunk and attach to the trunk lid hinges. We only remove these bars in pairs from cars that demonstrate that they can in fact support the weight of the deck lid on their own. We do not save rusty, bent or weak springs. 1971 until about 4-1-1971 Mercury Cougar. Look for the spacing on the bolts to the hinges. Used grommet for protecting the trunk light wiring as found on 1967-70 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustangs. Ford part number C4AB-14603-A.

Bracket tack welded in the trunk to reinforce the rear structure for mounting the rear bumper. Ford part number C7ZZ-17B862-A, fits all 1967-68 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang. These are sold individually, these are not side specific. There is also a reproduction version available. Used part cut from a 1967-68 Mercury Cougar, some spot welds will need to be drilled out on your end. Picture shows approximately what you will receive. 

Threaded anchor that slides into the trunk hinge on each side. Sold individually, two needed per car. These are for Cougar and Mustang built after approximately 3/31/1971. Look for bolt spacing of 4-1/4 inches on those trunk lids.  Ford number C9AZ-6242752-A.*Note - Trunks prior to March 31, 1971, did not use this anchor plate. I think that they had a bolt spacing of 4-1/2 inches.

Mounts in the corner of the passenger side apron and firewall. *Note - These are 40 year old canisters, at this late stage the filtering ability of the particulates are probably not that effective for pollution testing. This is part of the emissions control smog system, the fuel vapors that are collected in the charcoal canister are returned through a hose to this device into the fuel tank.
