These barrel nuts or clips are exactly like the original ones inserted into the trunk for attaching 1967-68 "Mercury" script, and 1971-72 Mercury Cougar "Mercury" Hood scripts. The manufacturer indicates that these tubular nuts fit 1/8" holes. Pin size on those emblems are 3/32". These clips are also used to attach the 1967 quarter panel emblems. 1967 - 1973 Cougar Logo Rubber Floor Mats - Used Dark chocolate brown, correct for Cougars equipped with Saddle, Ginger, or Tobacco interior. Notice this set is the version that is a couple of inches narrower so it will fit well with the addition of convertible inner rockers.

If your Cougar has to sit outside for any length of time this is a must. Not only will it protect from unwanted moisture but pine needles and other debris will be kept out. If your cowl already leaks then this is a great way to prevent the floors from rusting. Spring loaded T shaped fasteners make for instant installation and removal, attaches under grate bars so as not to damage paint. Very worth while preventative maintenance item.

Sold individually, right is the same as left. Rare find but hard to justify the price in light of the quality and price of the reproductions we offer at a fraction of the price. Notice the difference in brightness of these two NOS, fresh out of the Ford wrapper mouldings. This is actually quite common, different batches got different treatment. When you send in your trim to us to be restored it will match as it will all be done in the same "batch".

Great addition to that show quality FE powered early Cougar. Unlike the reproduction this has the original part number, BARNUM BROS. FIBRE CO. INC. lettering and FoMoCo insignia at the top driver side. This was one of the last units out the door when FORD discontinued them in the 1990's.
