This assembly is spot welded to the fender skin. Sometimes this area will be damaged in a collision but the skin will still be fine. Due to the rarity of good fenders and the costly shipping you may want to consider repairing your fender as opposed to buying another if this is all you need.

Bolts into place with 6 hex bolts 3/8-16 x 1-1/8" with washers. These were painted satin black from the factory. As you look at our picture below you will see the repro is about half the thickness. The repro is different in every detail but will work. We also have used plates with minor damage at a reduced cost.

This is a 1968 only part that is correct for Cougars equipped with the 390 GT "S" code motor. Whether your Cougar has the GT package or not, as long as it has a 4V 390 motor, this is the correct snorkel for your Cougar. The internal dimensions of the opening at the air cleaner base end measure 4 1/8" X 2 3/16", the flange mounting holes measure 5 1/2" on center. The opening for the S tube is 2 3/4". This snorkel was found on the XR7-G model with a 390 or 428 engine with the tall pent roof finned aluminum valve covers.
