    Description

Reproduction halogen headlight conversion kit. Included in this kit are the four halogen headlight bulbs (2 high and 2 low) and the full relay kit, which is needed when installing halogen bulbs on your 67 - 68 Cougar.

The 55 Watt Xenon Halogen H4/9003 bulbs included in this kit are "cool white" which have a bit of a blueish tint, like you see on modern cars.

If you would like to go with a more original "natural white" color, you can buy these inner replacement bulbs.

NOTE: YOU MUST BEND THE THIRD TAB BACK BEFORE INSTALLING THIS BULB IN THE HIGH BEAM POSITION - SEE PHOTO

    Pros:
    • Easy installation
    • Good quality components
    • Much brighter than stock
    • Won't overload electrical system
    Cons:
    • Don't like the supplied blue bulbs
I had my first real night drive recently in the countryside with these lights and WOW. They are brighter than I expected, and the high beams especially light up the whole world in front of you. Installation was pretty easy thanks to the well thought out relay wiring. Make sure you take the time to aim these correctly, for optimal performance and so you don't blind oncoming drivers. Since these bulbs have a European beam pattern, I used the E-Code aiming guidelines from Daniel Stern Lighting (google this and go to the Aim article he wrote for guidance).

I also opted to get the clear H4 bulbs that are offered separately, rather than the blue tinted bulbs supplied with this kit. I have no interest in the "cool white" look on a classic car, and the standard clear bulbs are a very nice bright white, not even yellowish like the old dim lights.

Very happy with the kit overall, great value and performance for the price. I'd highly recommend this if you ever plan on driving your Cougar in the dark.

I was ready to click "order," but elected to switch to the full relay kit and order it and the headlights separately to simulate such a kit. Take your time and pick a place for the relays that will be away from the door rotation - I put them near the horns, and velcroed them in with a tie-wrap safety-wire. The headlights are so dimensionally correct I didn't have to adjust the pattern. Really satisfied my desire to brighten things up.

There is nothing like new car lights on your classic Cougar. The comparison is night and day literally. The installation was super easy. The only issue I ran into was with the high beam lights. The high beam bulb comes with three male connectors but the harness only has room for two. After calling WCCC I was advised to cut the connector in the middle, I was then able to connect the light to the harness. Although it was a quick and easy fix it should have been mentioned prior to purchase.
