This is a restored 1968 steering wheel that is correct for all but the later production, standard interior equipped 1968 Cougars. Please email us for color on hand, rarely do we have more than one grade A in stock. Grade A will have almost no warping or lifting issues, soft and pliable and will not need repaint. Very hard to find, one year only part.

Good used pad available in most colors, please let us know which color you need in the comments section and we will try to accommodate. Grade B pads will be lifting at the top, be a little warped and have some missing texture where your thumbs often ride at 3 and 9 o'clock.

There are three of these rubber, glue on pads attached to the chrome horn center of every 1967 Cougar. The colored pads usually need to be repainted and we cannot guarantee to have all colors in stock at all times. Good used pad that will most likely need to be repainted unless it is black. Not hard and crispy looking. Comes naked as shown.

B grade pad has shrunk to the point that the center section will not fit well and you may have to file some of the plastic away for a proper fit, it will be curling a little at the top where it meets the wheel and overall will be rather hard from UV exposure. Additionally, it may show some signs of wear to the texture of the graining. If you state your preference in the comments section we will try to accommodate you on color.

If you have already begun to install or have installed this item, it is not eligible for return or refund. This is far superior to the switch Ford put out as a service part in the 90's. It is imperative that you clean every part of your old switch out before carefully installing the new switch. This is the correct horn panel bezel for all 1968 Cougar XR7 steering wheels. The satin paint will need to be resprayed but the two mounting studs are in place and there are no cracks or burns. Unique to the XR7, identified by having the grey inserts. Good used center with no crack, missing paint or broken mounting tabs. This was used on all 1969 Cougars with a three spoke wheel except the XR7.

Very rarely do we find one like this example that shows no sign of fading. This is for the person who is trying to achieve a very high level of preservation / restoration.

Regardless of what you have been told these emblems were never chromed. We do not have any of these in stock, probably will not get any more but we post this so as to give you a reference as to what color they should be.

This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.
