    Description

Due to the small amount of clearance between the back of your speaker and the door glass when lowered, these and their 30 watt little brother are the only speakers on the market that will replace your worn out originals and fit like OEM without modifications. Features Kenwood 60 watt peak power speakers, nice upgrade over the low wattage originals. Sold as a pair.

These pictures show what every 69-70 door panel looks like on the backside.  They are all perforated from from the factory to accept speakers.

This is a pair of Kenwood speakers with the frame trimmed and mounted to a plastic bracket that emulates the mounting of the factory speakers. The Kenwood speaker frames are not trimmed down enough to fit into the factory opening and you will have to further trim the metal to get it into the door. The bolts holding the speakers to the bracket will have to be tightend to secure the speaker to the bracket. Then the mounting holes in the bracket will need to be drilled out as they do not align with the factory holes.

I had to trim the factory opening in the door a little to get the speakers to sit flush with the door. But they sound fantastic and you can not see any thing deferent from the interior of my COugar. Over all I would buy another set if I find a need.

These are ok , i have to cut little bit to fit them .

Sound ok to put an ambiance in the front , surely a lot better than the originals one but far to the sound of a pair of 6.5 in. ( the windows wont open correctly with a pair of big speakers )

Construction and material of speakers is correct quality .

    Question
What is necessary to protect the backside of these door mounted speakers from the outside elements? Is there supposed to be some kind of plastic shield behind the speaker that protects the cone? I saw your YouTube video on installing 5 1/4" kick panel speakers on a 67/68 Cougar that references the plastic case the speaker sits in to protect it. Thank you, Dana 1970 XR7 Coupe.

I'm not sure what you mean by "divot"; I know there's a recess in the door for the Courtesy Light". There's also a hole in the door for a speaker. My question: Is there supposed to be a "shield" that protects the backside of the speaker from rainwater running down the inside of the door?

Sorry about the mis-information, I had it in my mind the indent in the door was for the speaker not the courtesy lights.

We do sell a vapor barrier to replace the factory barrier for the doors of the 69-70, but if you look at this pic you can see the residue from the original vapor barrier and it went around the speaker:

There was nothing behind the speaker. If you have a good beltline kit, very little water should get down into the door.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...
