Product Condition Grades
Below is a general description of what the criteria is for our product condition grades. These are generalizations that are intended to give you an idea of the condition of the product at a quick glance. Because different parts degrade at different rates, there are variances in what the letters represent, please see the products description for details about the condition of any particular product.
A = Excellent / Above Average
B = Average / Some flaws / Good to Excellent Driver Quality
C = Obvious flaws / Poor to Average Driver Quality
D, E, F = Worse, Worser, Worsest
This is the most complete kit available for the steering box with 1-1/8 inch sector shafts. Comes complete as shown. Reproduction rebuild kit for your 1967-70 Cougar or Mustang steering box only with the 1-1/8 inch sector shafts. Needless to say, having a faulty steering box can be quite dangerous. If you hear grinding or popping sounds coming from your box, it may be time to rebuild it. We do offer a rebuilt steering box, but if you're good with your hands and on a budget, you can rebuild your box with this kit. SMB-K, SMB-D, and SMB-F tagged steering boxes. Probably a DIY youtube video out there for installation.
Warning - Excludes Early 1967 Steering gear boxes with 1 inch sector shafts (SMB-C & SMB-E). Sector shaft is where the Pitman arms attaches.
