The Monte Carlo Bar was originally developed by Carroll Shelby to help maintain proper wheel alignment under hard cornering. Not only will this item help stiffen the notoriously flexy front end, it will also help reduce the chances that your shock towers will develop stress cracks over time.

    I purchased one of these years ago and it does not fit on a 67 XR7 with factory air. It rests on top of the ac compressor and the support strut. Is this Monte Carlo bar supposed to fit a factory AC Cougar?

    Does this fit the stock 1968 Cougar air cleaner, or does it require an oval air cleaner?

    All of the Monte Carlo bars we sell should work with either the factory air cleaner or the oval air cleaner.
