Our service is to rebuild your sending unit. A quality core is required.
This rebuilt XR7 fuel sending unit has been meticulously gone through and made operational again. All sending units are taken apart and media blasted. Once cleaned, the thermistor is carefully removed from the tube and opened up so that the mesh screen and insulator can be chemically cleaned. All wire leads are removed and tested, then resoldered to their contact points. Upon reassembly, initial testing is done with VOM. Calibration is not done by bending the arm! Calibration is done internally, so each time an adjustment is made, the housing is reopened.
After all this is done, a reading is taken for empty, half and full tank. It's important to note that these were never highly precise instruments. Once testing is complete, the housing is closed and in some cases soldered. The temperature of the thermistor is measured to establish that it is showing the correct resistance for the temperature, then immersed water to verify function.
