    Cons:

WCCC is correct that these 24450 Ford original frame mounts will resolve the unique motor mount requirement for 67 Mustang or 68-69 Cougar/Mustang convertible. Since correct motor mounts for the unique 67 Mustang or 68-69 Cougar/Mustang convertible are NOT available, the 24450 frame mounts with WCCC 15307 will place the engine in the same position as factory with unique 67 Mustang or 68-69 Cougar/Mustang frame bracket/motor mounts. Shown in my review pics are my original 69 Mustang convertible frame mounts with the unique original motor mount (C7ZA-6038-F or WCCC 32879). Installed height from the datum is ~4 5/8”. In the other pic, I have installed WCCC 24450 frame mounts with a parts store 2257 motor mount (or WCCC 15307). Installed height from the datum is an identical ~4 5/8” which proves that WCCC is correct. The engine’s installed height is the same. WCCC is also correct that there are NO aftermarket motor mounts that will work with unique 67 Mustang or 68-69 Cougar/Mustang convertible frame mounts (WCCC 24022). Installing a parts store 2257 motor mounts (WCCC 15307) with the unique 67 Mustang or 68-69 Cougar/Mustang convertible frame mounts (WCCC 24022) will result in an incompatible arrangement. The angle of the motor mount flanges will be totally wrong and the installed height will be ~0.5” higher (see pic). Don’t try this. Calling NAPA to talk to the “real parts guys” won’t solve anything. I think that there were correct after market motor mounts for unique 67 Mustang or 68-69 Cougar/Mustang convertibles 20 or 30 years ago, but why bother trying to find them, change the frame brackets and forget about it. Combing ebay for old NOS part store parts won’t work either. Blogosphere says that you can redrill one hole in the unique frame mount which reorients it to the same position as 24450. That is correct, but the new hole will be very close to the original hole and if you’re not careful your new hole will blend into the original hole and you will get one long elongated hole and lose the ability to correctly orient the bracket on the unibody frame strap. It’s easier to purchase these 24450 and use parts store 2257 motor mounts (WCCC 15307). I also agree with WCCC that factory original 24450 frame mounts are higher quality than reproductions (WCCC 30528). Go with the WCCC 24450 Ford parts with WCCC 15307 motor mounts and you will have no problems.

'67 Mustang needed '68 frame mounts for late model 302 installation

    Pros:
    • Fit
    • availability
    Cons:
When installing my new crate motor (347 c.u.- using late model 302 block), into my '67 Mustang Coupe, I just could not make the engine mounts reach the frame mounts. Came up about 1/2" short. Turns out the 302 wasn't even available until '68. That is why you MUST have these '68 mounts if you're trying to install into a '67. These have one bolt hole drilled in a slightly different position, which changes the geometry of the entire mount, and mates perfectly to my stock 302 mounts. And I mean the fit is TIGHT. I had to drive the securing bolts through with a hammer.

Very glad to have WCCC and Don especially confirm my suspicions. They had a pair in stock and sent them out next day. They were rusted and dirty, but I don't care. They'll get blasted and powder coated and will look perfect when complete.

    Pros:

    Cons:
    • Aftermarket motor mounts did not fit
I purchased these in order to make my 1967 Mustang convertible compatible with afermarket motor mounts. For whatever reason Ford made specific, one year only, motor mounts for 67 convertibles and they are not reproduced. I also purchased the cooling system upgrade which, among other things includes a fan shroud. Unfortunately it is difficult and in my case impossible to get the engine located at the proper height to clear the bottom edge of the fan shroud with this combination. I was forced to reinstall the existing brackets and mounts and since one was bad to order a used OEM 67 convertible motor mount instead. I sure hope this works!

    Great Fit.

These were exactly what I needed. I have a 67 XR7 and was having issues with I stalling new motor mounts. Did some reading and found out that I needed these. When I receive these I clean them up pain of them and they fit right in. After these were installed my new motor mounts one and just like there should.

Thanks to WCCC's great information. I finally found out why since the late 1980's, The motor mounts in my 69 convertible never really fit good. A side note I did have a problem with one. WCCC took care of it promptly. Thank you. Everyone should watch WCCC's videos on Youtube

    carlos catly Asked:
Hello, I have a 1969 mustang convertible. If I get this do I need to drill any holes on the frame or will it bolt right in?

    Question
    B. Smith Asked:
Will these mounts combined with the 15307 aftermarket motor mount maintain the original installed height of the engine in a 1969 Mustang Convertible? As I understand it, the 1969 Mustang Convertibles have more body structure underneath, so Ford developed a body bracket and engine mount combination that would lower the engine's installed height by about ½-inch. I am removing the 302 in favor of a 351W and I don't want the engine any higher in the compartment that it has to be, Thanks,

    Answer
    WCCC Admin Answered:
No, there are not any 1968-70 convertible specific engine isolator mounts available. Probably a slight change in height. Negligible, Fan still fits inside fan shroud.
