Description

Correct shackle for all 1967 through 1973 Cougars, except those manufactured between 10/70 and 9/71. Measures 3-1/2 inches from center to center.

Bushing dimensions: Length 1 1/8", outside diameter 1" (shaft piece) - 1 1/4" (end piece), hole diameter 1/2"

Sold individually, two required per car.

Replaces Ford 5630 shackle kits that include bushings C4GY-5781-A and D4DZ-5781-A.

67 Cougar Leaf Springs

The leaf springs arrived quickly and I finally got around to installing them. The video on replacing the springs was very helpful. The car sits a little high but I'll drive it for a while and I'm hoping it comes down a little.

THREAD STRIPPED! 69 xr7

They look pretty good and correct but, when tightening the passenger side upper nut it started getting loose and spinning so I took it off thinking maybe the nut stripped. I looked at the nut and it was fine and I noticed the threads on the shackle itself were ruined. It just sucks getting a job almost done to have to redo half of it.

Great "correct" shackle kit. The old ones did not look to be in very good shape, so thought it best to just get a new set. We used a bit of hand soap to lubricate things so that it went together easier. Do not use petroleum based lube as it will damage the bushings.
