    Description

These bumper guards are blems, they are not perfect, but they undergo the same triple plate process as our bumpers and other bumper guards.  They may have hairline scratches, light pitting, or other blemishes that make them so we cannot sell them as show quality restored. They will look way better than 40+ year old bumper guards, but they are not perfect.  Don't care about perfection, these may be just the ticket for you.  Please note that these are discounted because of the blemish that they have and we cannot take the time to send you pics of a these or hand pick one for you, they will all have similar blemishes and it is up to you to decide if you are willing to take the gamble on a blemished bumper guard to save yourself some money.

This options includes the core charge, but there are advantages of sending cores in advance:

    Advantages of  Pre-Sending Cores:

    - We core match your Bumper Guards. We recommend you pre-sending your core if you have a good quality core, as our A grade Bumper Guards are always reserved for core matching. If your core is not a grade A core, you may be able to pay a charge to upgrade to a higher grade re-chromed Bumper Guards.

    - Ships after we receive and inspect your Bumper Guards core, avoiding unnecessary core charges

    - You can find out the quality of your core before paying a core charge; discounted core charges may apply for cores sent in advance.

Rear guards were standard on all 1973 Mercury Cougars. left is the same as right, we sell these individually.

    Mercury master part number D3WY-17984-A.

*NOTE*  We do not plate, paint or prep the backside of these bumpers.  They are unrestored on the back and after 40 years they all have some degree of surface rust.  For those that want to go the extra mile you can sand the back by hand, tape the bumper off and coat or spray it with your favorite silver or argent product.  If you do nothing that is fine also, you will not cause your bumper harm or void your warranty if you choose to do nothing.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
