Housing overall width - 54-1/4 inches flange to flange without fill plug in housing. Spring perches are 43 inches apart on center.
Overall width measured from faces of axles, not the tips. All 1967-70 have the same overall width of 59-1/2 inches.
Axles used: Passenger side - 31-1/8 inches long, Driver side 27 inches long.
Complete rear end housing - drum to drum, with axles, and with pumpkin. For all 1967-1968 Cougars with original 289 or 302 equipped engines. As removed from West Coast Cougar organ donor car. We recommend a bearing and seal inspection prior to use. For safety sake, some brake components should never be reused.
Shipped with 2.79:1 ring and pinion ratio, non-locking only.
*Note - This rear axle assembly has the fill plug in the third member, not in the rear of the housing like very early 1967 8 inch rear ends. Consider the early housing with fill plug, much lower price.
Bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5
