    Description

1973 Complete, solid Mercury Cougar / Mustang tilt column with no missing or cracked parts. Although they may look much alike, each year 1970 - 1973 is unique. Every column we sell has been disassembled and reconditioned by our full time in house tilt column specialist. If you do not currently have a tilt column do know you will get every part needed to make the conversion.

Often times we are unable to stock 1971-73 tilt columns due to not having tilt rag joints. We now offer a reduced price tilt column that does not need the 1971-73 tilt rag joints. Please see our related items for the ECONOMY version of this tilt steering column.

*NOTE* For tilt column service, you can contact Tony Augustine at 6t8cougarguy@gmail.com. Tony is a trusted colleague of WCCC and we've sent many customers his way since our column specialist retired last year.

WCCC no longer has an in-house service for tilt and tilt-tilt away steering columns 1967-1979.

After several years of working exclusively with Tony Augustine in MO, we can highly recommend him as one of the most knowledgeable builders of these unique columns in the world.

We now exclusively send all of the columns we sell as rebuilt to Tony for service.

He can be reached at 816-210-4779 or 6t8cougarguy@gmail.com

Make sure you tell him WCCC sent you!

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...

My 1971 Cougar XR7 was retrofitted with a Ford “400”, Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb, TCI Street Fighter trans, B & M Hammer shifter, and dual turbo exhaust. While this sounds interesting, the Cougar itself was seriously neglected and...

WCCC hooked me up with an original glove box cable and the correct screws WITH shoulders for my glove box. Their listing for these screws explains that the original screws have a shoulder for the cable and most people put in the wrong screws--which...

I have been a cougar owner for just shy of 30 years, I have been dealing with part problems for a very long time. The people at WCCC have always be honest, and overly helpfull. I now have a 1970 XR-7 mostly rebuilt, and my son has a 1968 base...
