    Description

Complete, solid tilt column with no missing or cracked parts. Easy to install and is as comfortable of an upgrade as you maybe imagining it to be. Although they may look much alike, each year 1970-73 is unique. In my opinion this upgrade enhances your cars value in direct proportion to its cost and will not cost you points in judged shows as it was a commonly installed dealer option.

Often times we are unable to stock 1971-73 tilt columns due to not having tilt rag joints. We now offer a reduced price tilt column that does not need the 1971-73 tilt rag joints. Please see our related items for the ECONOMY version of this tilt steering column.

*NOTE* For tilt column service, you can contact Tony Augustine at 6t8cougarguy@gmail.com. Tony is a trusted colleague of WCCC and we've sent many customers his way since our column specialist retired last year.

WCCC no longer has an in-house service for tilt and tilt-tilt away steering columns 1967-1979.

After 2 years of working exclusively with Tony Augustine in MO, we can highly recommend him as one of the top most knowledgeable builders of these unique columns in the world.

We now exclusively send all of the columns we sell as rebuilt to Tony for service.

He can be reached at 816-210-4779 or 6t8cougarguy@gmail.com

Make sure you tell him WCCC sent you!

Don Rush, owner of West Coast Classic Cougar.

There is an active thread on the Classic Cougar Community Forum discussing tilt columns and trouble shooting.

    Cons:

The turn signal switch was bad and needed to be replaced. That was a minor detail. The main issue is that the tilt column only tilts once in awhile and in fact now is jammed in the uppermost position. I'm going to pull it out tomorrow and put the old standard column back in.

While I bought it last September, I didn't have it installed until this spring.

WCCC Response: Sorry you've had issues with it - that does sound like a turn signal switch issue, since the lever is what controls the tilt. No need to remove the column as you can replace the switch in the car. Even though this was a while ago, contact us and we'll make it right for you.

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
