Give your Cougar the added comfort of an extra 5/8" of dense, heavy padding under the carpeting and almost 30 lbs of Sound Deadening material for a total weight of 35 pounds. The mass backing gives your floor the plush feel of the carpeting in a new luxury car while adding a great deal of sound deadener to muffle road noise and insulate from heat and cold. The mass backing combined with the foil heat shield we sell will provide sound deadening substantially beyond what the factory sound deadener was capable of.

FYI: Dark Brown carpet is what was normally found on cars with Nugget Gold interior.
Of the many carpets available out there these are the best. They are the correct 25 ounce 80/20 Rayon/Nylon blend, molded to the contour of your floor pans and have the correct thickness of insulation bonded to the backside. They come with the correct heel and toe pad sewn into the drivers side and have the correct hem in the appropriate places.
For those with Tan/Saddle Interior, your vehicle would have come with the Dark Brown Carpet. If you have a vehicle with Light or Dark Aqua, your vehicle would have originally come with a Dark Aqua carpeting, which unfortunately is no longer available, however they came with a dark blue dash pad making the dark blue carpet a nice match.
