This product is an NOS Part.
NOS items are OEM parts from Ford that have been sitting on shelves or in warehouses for years. These are often great examples of the orignal parts, but they may have scratches or other shelf wear.
However be aware that some NOS parts are "service replacement" parts. "Service replacement" parts are not exact replacements of the parts that were installed at the factory, but are what Ford considered as "good enough" and were used at Ford dealerships after the original supply of parts was exhausted.
We often leave NOS product listings on our website after they sell for reference purposes.
New Old Stock relay. Known as the "K-11" relay in the Ford Service manual. This relay was only used in production prior to 1-3-67. It provides a low current circuit through the relay solenoid and the stop lamp switch and a separate circuit through the relay points to handle the higher current load of the stop lamps. Again, this unit was only used in early 1967 Mercury Cougars. This early brake light relay is unique to Cougars built prior to 1-3-67. Unlike the later built Cougars, it mounts next to the sequential unit in the trunk, later Cougars locate this unit under the dash.
The engineering # imprinted on the unit is C6SB-13A410-A or C5SB-13A410-A.
