This product is an NOS Part.
NOS items are OEM parts from Ford that have been sitting on shelves or in warehouses for years. These are often great examples of the orignal parts, but they may have scratches or other shelf wear.
However be aware that some NOS parts are "service replacement" parts. "Service replacement" parts are not exact replacements of the parts that were installed at the factory, but are what Ford considered as "good enough" and were used at Ford dealerships after the original supply of parts was exhausted.

This NOS remote mirror came to use without a Autolite or Motorcraft box. Current offering while new and never installed does have a small manufacturers defect in the casting as shown. Found on the drivers side of standard model Cougars, no passenger side mate was ever offered with this mirror. Two different versions of this mirror are found on 1971-73 Mecury Cougars, either casting number D1WB-17743-AA or C9AB-17743-A.
This mirror has the Ford casting number D1WB-17743-AA.
