Description

In 1967, one could order from the factory a power drum brake Mustang or Cougar. In 1968 - 1973 that option was discontinued and all you could order was manual drum all the way around or power disc in front with drum in the back. This kit is for the person who already has the power booster and pedal in place and wants to convert to power disc in the front. Since the 1967 model year used the same spindles for disc or drum brake cars you can do this conversion and never even have to take your car in for alignment. Even if you do not buy our kit, this listing makes for a good resource for you to know which parts to be on the look out for if you want to collect the parts individually yourself.

Factory Front Drum to Disc Conversion - 67 Cougar Standard

This kit is very comprehensive and is exactly what is needed to transform your 67 Cougar with power drum brakes into a one that "came from the factory' with power disc brakes. This is a very involved job, so make sure that you have plenty of space and time to do it right. There was some fitment issues with the splash shields, but after a little trimming, they fit just fine. There was also an issue of a missing piece or two not shipped with the kit, but the excellent staff at WCCC took care of that right away. Overall, the installation was very successful and my car now stops very well. I'd recommend this kit to anyone looking to upgrade from drum to disc and has the knowledge of how a factory front disc brake car is supposed to be set up.
