This poster is a meticulous recreation of the 1968 original that Lincoln-Mercury dealerships had on display in their showrooms to advertise the Cougar XR7-G. We were able to have an original poster professionally scanned, the images were restored, and the text carefully recreated to match the original. The result is a fresh new version of a rare, iconic display piece. This 24" x 36" poster is smaller than the original, which was a massive 36" x 48". This makes it easier to display, and easier...
Reproduction multi-year power steering pump, 1967-69, and 1971-73, excludes 1970. When fully assembled you will notice that this year P/S pump has a centered fitting for the pressure hose on the back of the reservoir. Most factory 1970 Mercury Cougar and Ford Mustang have an offset fitting. The only 1970 exception is the R or Q code 428 Cobra Jet engines, they used this pump. Does not include dipstick. Manufacurers note: In place of the paper gaskets, it is recommended that you use gray atv...
This listing is for the momentary rocker switch that operates the power sunroof on the 1968 XR7G and is located in the center console. This is actually not the correct switch as you will notice by the pin / wire configuration on the back. This "substitute" switch was taken from another model from the day such as the Lincoln Mark III rear seat quarter window switch. Please note the comparison pictures original vs. "other". 1968 Cougars equipped with a power sunroof that were not an XR7G...
This listing is for the momentary rocker switch that operates the power sunroof on the 1968 XR7G and is located in the center console. 1968 Cougars equipped with a power sunroof that were not an XR7G utilized the power top switch from a 1968 Mustang convertible. Ford part number C8SB-14540-A
Up for grabs is something special for the serious collector of everything Cougar. This is an official press release document with attached 8x10 glossy photo of the prototype for the XR7 GTE . These were prepared by the Lincoln Mercury Public Relations Department for immediate release to newspapers in order to spread the word about new and exciting announcements. This particular release features a glossy black and white photo of the new XR7 GTE 427 prototype with fiberglass hood,...
Lots of great photos inside and out of the Cyclone, Montego and 1968 Cougar.
This promo guide features all Mercury's from 1968. Notice the Model A in the background. It features a great shot of a red GTE blazing down the track. ...
This is one of my all time favorite Mercury Dealer promotional guides. Great detail shots and beautiful photography. This is what the salesman would have handed you in 1967-68 when you inquired about a new Cougar. Rare find, mint condition, very limited quantity. Notice that only the later version had the green insert announcing the mid year changes. Most of our copies do not come with the green supplement. The dealer showroom album lists a January 1, 1968 effective date for the changes...
Cylindrical shaped brass valve, some times called the pressure control valve or 'cigar' valve. Starting in 1968, disc brake cars have it mounted almost directly on the Pressure Differential Valve on the driver side fender apron. The pressure differential valve is also commonly called the 'brake distribution block'. We also sell our brake distribution blocks complete with the proportioning valves. The C8OA numbered proportioning valve started way late for the 1968 model year. We almost never...
Reproduction proportioning valve for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. This is a cylindrical shaped brass valve, some times called the pressure control valve, brake valve or 'cigar' valve. This valve is most often found at the junction of the high pressure hose back at the rear end, or later, found with the distribution block mounted on the driver side apron (inner fender). Replaces Ford part # C7OZ-2B091-B. Check out this video ...
This plate attaches the 3/8" steel fuel line under the driver's side rear torque box, as it makes its way from the rear frame rail out to the rocker area. It acts both as a mount and as a protector from road debris. These were used on late 1967 to 1968 Cougars and Mustang with the 3/8" fuel line. Early 1967 cars had smaller 5/16" fuel line, and different routing (through the transmission tunnel), and did not use this part. Mounting bolts included.
