    Description

Reproduction proportioning valve for the Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang. This is a cylindrical shaped brass valve, some times called the pressure control valve, brake valve or 'cigar' valve. This valve is most often found at the junction of the high pressure hose back at the rear end, or later, found with the distribution block mounted on the driver side apron (inner fender).

    Question
    Rich Asked:
I have a 69 Cougar XR-7 and I recently changed the front and rear brakes from drum to disc. Does this valve work for Disc/Disc?

    Answer
    WCCC Admin Answered:

The OEM Proportioning Valve will not work if you have converted all 4 wheels to disc brakes, you would need to use something like the adjustable Proportioning Valve we offer, part # 41805.

I bought my 69 Cougar in Jul of '09 as a retirement from the Army gift to myself. From day 1 it had intermittent heating problems that I tried to fix. I changed the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and added 2 12 in 1400 cfm electric cooling...
