This product is an NOS Part.
NOS items are OEM parts from Ford that have been sitting on shelves or in warehouses for years. These are often great examples of the orignal parts, but they may have scratches or other shelf wear.
However be aware that some NOS parts are "service replacement" parts. "Service replacement" parts are not exact replacements of the parts that were installed at the factory, but are what Ford considered as "good enough" and were used at Ford dealerships after the original supply of parts was exhausted.

Why is this right rear wheel lip so costly and difficult to find these days? Consider this... The right rear was the first to go obsolete from Ford. The right rear is the one most likely to get damaged because of it being the corner that is in the "blind spot". Remember, these early Cougars did not have RH mirrors! Lastly and maybe the most relevant is the fact that the right rear wheel is your traction tire which means more damage from flying road debris, loose tire chains and the like. It was NEVER Ford Motor Companies intent to make these cars last forty or more years.
