    This 49 state oil filler cap fits valve covers that utilize twist-on oil caps. This cap is a reproduction of the original cap that was found on 1967 models with the S code 390 and 289 engines with dress up kit like found on DGS 1967 Cougars.. This part features a quality chrome finish along with a crisp "FoMoCo" stamping. At its widest point it is 3" in diameter. The total height is 2 1/4" high including the portion that goes into the valve cover.

    * Trivia - For 289 engines it should have an "AUTOLITE" stamping on top. Credit Bob Mannel and his book.

    It appears from the retaining tabs in the picture from the bottom that this does not use a grommet on the valve cover. Is this correct? I have a 67 GT with the chrome 'PowerbyFord' covers.

    This oil cap is for twist on applications, not the press on applications, so no it does not use the rubber grommet.
