This product is an NOS Part.
NOS items are OEM parts from Ford that have been sitting on shelves or in warehouses for years. These are often great examples of the orignal parts, but they may have scratches or other shelf wear.
However be aware that some NOS parts are "service replacement" parts. "Service replacement" parts are not exact replacements of the parts that were installed at the factory, but are what Ford considered as "good enough" and were used at Ford dealerships after the original supply of parts was exhausted.

Ford offered the 1973 Mercury Cougar hood emblem in two versions as a service replacement part. It is very rare to find them new in the box with the chrome center hood moulding, usually they are found without the chrome. This was found at the Spring 2007 Ford Carlisle show. Once its gone I doubt we will see another anytime soon.
Keep in mind we are always looking for Texaco gas station memorabilia for trades! At this point we are mostly looking for poor condition signs. Will consider good condition signs but are really after the "right" patina.
