    Description

Very correct, quality regulator that is much better than the imports we see that are made of a softer metal. Replaces Ford Part # C8ZZ-6523201.

*NOTE* The 1967 splined stud the window crank mounts to is taller on the 67 than the 68. They are not meant to interchange 67 to 68. If you install a 1967 regulator on your 1968 the window crank will not seat properly and will protrude from the door panel. If you try to install a 1968 regulator on a 1967 model the window crank will fit too tight to the door panel and ruin the door panel.

I finally hit the dreaded, previous owners never grease the regulator arms, situation where the crank actually broke. No window for 1 month in summer weather. I eventually got these for a great price (better than anywhere else I've looked) and they went in without hassle whatsoever. Greased up the window goes up 3 times faster for some reason (less cranks) maybe due to tooth spacing or I had never experienced "new" on these parts yet. I am greatly satisfied with the product!

    Cons:
my 1968 Cougar had windows that were always relatively hard to roll up&down, ever since i bought the car recently. one (front right) was especially hard to move. (previous owners probably neglected this area, maintenance and/or fix.)

because of the more and more power needed to roll this particular window, in a certain occurance, too much power was applied and one center part of the window regulator was broken.

unfortunately, no parts supplier offers that small center part ("drive gear"), but in case of a (multiple-)decade-old part, it actually makes sense to replace the whole window regulator.

to prevent wear & tear, proper maintenance of the window regulators is a "must"... (that is what i will keep in my mind.)

Why am I being warned about potential exposure to chemicals in motor vehicle parts?

    • Some chemicals in motor vehicle parts are on the Proposition 65 list because they can cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
    • When purchasing USED or NOS items, we do not know if listed chemicals are present in these products.
    • This product is known to contain the following listed chemicals:
