This is a plastic cushion, washer and/or spring between the lower knuckle and inner tube on a 1968 - 1973 tilt-away steering column. This is the spring that returns the actuator from the start position.

This part is located in the left front corner of the panel and has to be rotated inward to remove it from the guide rail so the panel cannot be removed. Imprinted on the plastic portion of the part is a Golde part number 100 414 645. Ford part number C8WY-65502L09-A

This plastic fastener is used to keep your mirror cable from interfering with the movement of your door glass. It is located at the front of the door near the top.

Ford Casting number as seen on the bottom side is D1OB-17713-AWA. Many people misinterpret it as D10B-17713-AWA, DI0B-17713-AW or Dl0B-17713-AWA. Perfect base with no cracks or bends. Ford offered the 1973 Mercury Cougar hood emblem in two versions as a service replacement part. It is very rare to find them new in the box with the chrome center hood moulding, usually they are found without the chrome. This was found at the Spring 2007 Ford Carlisle show. This was an adhesive emblem and has long since fallen off most cars or was removed when the car was painted. This is one of the smallest "Cougar" emblems ever put on a Mercury Cougar. Only the 70-73 two spoke cat and xr7-G shift handle Cougar was smaller. It is also the most delicate! Very unusual to find the tail and all limbs intact on this fragile little kitty. Silver spray paint will make this cat look new again, they did not have a chrome finish from the factory. Now that we have reproduced this emblem there is little incentive to purchase this over-priced used emblem.

This is an exact replacement for a 1970 remote sport mirror. Nearly indistinguishable from a 1968. Obviously a larger ball and longer than found on 1969, 1971-73 remote mirrors. Found on the C pillars of a 1971 - 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7 Coupe. We rarely get good used examples of these emblems as they are always badly faded. These mount on the lower part of the roof behind the quarter windows. This part of the roof is also known as the 'C' pillar.

This little emblem was used only on the two spoke steering wheels from 1969 - 1973. We can pretty much guarantee one if not both of the two mounting studs will be broken but because of the way it fits into the recess of the steering wheel pad, gluing it into place is not a problem. We rarely have an emblem this nice in stock for more than a few weeks of any one year as the tail was prone to breaking off as well as the "cats" other limbs. This is a Pitts manufactured pulley and clutch assembly with a pulley diameter of 6-5/16", a clutch diameter of 5-1/8", and an overall thickness of 1-11/16 inches. Ford part # D1OA-2981-A. Inside door handle release mechanism for the driver side on base model standard 1972-73 Cougar and Mustang. This latch mechanism went through a couple of revisions by the end of 1973. Ford calls this part a 'control and link assembly', this particular one only works with the base door handles as shown in the photo. The Ford MPC describes those door handles as fitting the door panels with detachable armrests, instead of the molded armrests on the door panels, as found on the XR7 and Decor...

Stainless steel throttle pedal surround trim. Self attaching to part number D1ZZ-9735-B. This used part may have some wear, but will not have broken tabs. Fine steel wool really shines these up. It appears that this trim may not have been used all the way through 1973. Ford probably eliminated it as a cost saving measure.

This 1/2" tall unique little screw was used on several different trim parts on the early Mercury Cougars. In 1967 - 1968 there were eight per wheel lip moulding, two per fender extension moulding, two per center grille moulding and five per hood lip moulding for a total of 50 screws. In 1969-1973 they were used on the wheel lips mouldings. The 1971 - 1973 hood lip mouldings used the same screw but it was 5/8" tall.

Reproduction locking pawl for the 1970 - 1979 Mercury Cougar or Ford Mustang that is equipped with a factory tilt steering column. This unit works in conjunction with a pin and is responsible for locking the tilt column in place. In many cases, the pin tends to move out of place and break or chip the teeth of the locking pawl. This is a good used main power window wiring harness that passes through the firewall, travels along the passenger side engine compartment and mates the the rectangular power window relay. Fits 1971-73 Mercury Cougars with factory power windows. This is a Grade B harness that has been tested, inspected and repaired as needed.
